Jade Maloney, Space ISAC
Constellations talked to Jade Maloney of Space ISAC about what to expect from this year’s Value of Space Summit event.
What are some of the themes this year at VOSS?
Space ISAC’s sixth annual Value of Space Summit (VOSS VI), co-hosted by The Aerospace Corporation, will explore the theme The Secure Space Ecosystem: Fostering Economic Growth, Global Partnerships, and Workforce Innovation. It underscores the critical importance of global collaboration in enabling innovation, expanding economic opportunity and cultivating a resilient and skilled space sector workforce. This theme spotlights how global partnerships and information sharing initiatives are essential for sustainable growth in the evolving space ecosystem.
What’s different about the event this year from past years?
This year’s program includes a Classified Session for cleared participants that has been expanded to include Five Eyes (FVEY) partners. This marks an important step in strengthening global information sharing and collaboration, offering a rare opportunity for high-level, sensitive discussions on critical space security topics.
The agenda features an immersive Student & Faculty Day, complete with a “Lunar Lifeline” tabletop exercise that simulates crisis decision-making in cislunar space, which adds a rich experiential learning component. We are welcoming most of our University Members as either presenters or attendees.
This year, we are holding a Member Showcase to provide organizations with a platform to present and network in a dedicated and collaborative setting.
Are you expecting any new categories of attendees?
Yes, we are. While VOSS typically attracts a strong mix of members, government partners and industry leaders, this year’s enhancements are expected to draw an even broader audience, including international cleared security professionals, with the Classified Session now expanded to include Five Eyes (FVEY) partners, and local media representatives, helping to share the importance of space security and the summit’s impact with the broader public.
What can attendees expect to take away from this year’s conference?
Actionable insights and strategic intelligence from classified briefings and interactive sessions, especially for those involved in space security and emerging threats. Valuable networking opportunities, both in formal sessions and in the Member Showcase, opening doors for collaboration across sectors. Hands-on crisis response experience through the cislunar-themed tabletop exercise. Fresh perspectives from emerging talent, with engaging contributions from students and faculty, alongside spaces for mentorship and collaboration. Inspiring community engagement, as the Star Party offers a shared experience with a local non-profit, Safe Place for Pets, that underscores the human connection to space and its exploration.
