Constellations talked to the Space ISAC team about what to expect from the 2026 Value of Space Summit, what’s new about the event and what they most love about the location.

What’s the overarching theme of this year’s VOSS VII event?

This year’s theme is “Resilience by Design: Building, Operating, and Defending Space Capabilities.”

What should attendees expect from this year’s event that’s different from past years?

One of the biggest differences this year is that VOSS VII is designed to be far more interactive and collaborative than traditional conferences or trade shows. We wanted to move beyond a schedule filled with back-to-back presentations and create opportunities for attendees to actively engage with one another, exchange ideas, and help shape solutions to today’s most pressing challenges in the space ecosystem.

While we have had workshops in the past, this year’s focus on bringing together established space and cyber professionals with the next generation by providing an interactive, hands-on workshop across two distinct days. These focus on utilizing both established security frameworks but also emerging security frameworks to highlight threat detection and information sharing procedures.

What are some surprising facts about Space ISAC and VOSS that attendees might not be aware of?

One thing that often surprises people about VOSS is that it’s not a traditional trade show or industry conference. While you’ll certainly hear from senior leaders across government, industry, academia, and international organizations, the real purpose of the Summit is to bring the Space ISAC community together to strengthen the security and resilience of the space ecosystem.

VOSS is built around collaboration. It provides a trusted environment where organizations can share perspectives, exchange lessons learned, discuss emerging challenges, and build relationships that enable stronger collective defense. Throughout the week, attendees have opportunities to engage directly with subject matter experts, participate in interactive discussions and connect with partners who are equally committed to protecting the space capabilities that our world increasingly depends on.

New attendees are amazed by the culture and community cultivated amongst the Space ISAC, particularly at a public event such as VOSS. Due to our online collaborative community throughout the year, VOSS allows individuals to break down those online barriers and make real, meaningful connections in person. Moreover, new attendees walk away each year with a renewed focus on global collaboration and safety and security of the space sector thanks to VOSS and the ability to grow and connect to individuals they interface with regularly.

At its core, VOSS reflects the Space ISAC mission: bringing together the global space community to share information, collaborate across sectors and collectively work toward a more secure and resilient space ecosystem. That’s what makes VOSS a truly unique experience.

What are the Space ISAC team’s favorite characteristics about and things to do in Colorado Springs?

Colorado Springs is the perfect place to host VOSS because it combines an incredible aerospace and defense community with amazing outdoor experiences.

• Hiking or driving through Garden of the Gods.
• Exploring Pikes Peak.
• Visiting downtown Colorado Springs for local restaurants, breweries, and coffee shops.
• Enjoying the city’s sunny weather and mountain views.
• Public events that bring the community together.
