Rebecca Cowen-Hirsch has been with Inmarsat for over 9 years, plenty of opportunity to see how the commercial satellite industry has changed. However, she started her career with the U.S. Air Force - giving her keen insight to both the military and commercial world.

Rebecca discusses SATCOM as a Service, a commercial SATCOM network that operates similar to the cellular network, with users having the ability to plug in, operate and get where they need to be, whether with voice, video or data. She shares her thoughts on a government procurement culture that wants to remain the same, but clashing with technology that cannot be taken advantage of without change.
